Glenridge originally grew out of an independent church called “The Invisible Church”, which was planted in 1976. In 1982 “Invis” dissipated and a remnant started a new church called Glenridge Christian Fellowship.
A young high school teacher Chris Wienand stepped forward to lead the church. Later, Chris met a dynamic and mature church leader, Dudley Daniel, who put solid apostolic foundations into the church. The church flourished, growing in maturity and numbers.
The church moved from The Albany Hotel to Parkview School, then to Glenwood High School and on to the D.L.I. Hall. We built our current venue on top of the Durban Station. The church was named due to its initial impact into the Glenwood and Ridge areas, but because of its spreading influence into several nations, the name was changed to Glenridge Church International.
After fourteen years, Chris and Meryl Wienand handed over to Rory and Melanie Dyer in 1996. Now, fifteen years later, Rory and Mel hand over to Ryan and Melissa Matthews, who have been leading Kingsgate Church in London for the last three years. Ryan and Melissa were on the Glenridge eldership before moving to Kingsgate.
Many have pioneered from the ranks of this community – many planting churches, others in various forms of leadership.
We would love you to be a part our next chapter.
